KeyStore has been supplying customers in Northern England for several years and has stepped up its service, working with even more retailers to grow their businesses.

The most recent addition to the KeyStore family is Davidsons Garage at Penrith which has become the first KeyStore More forecourt south of the Border.

Manager Joe Stamper, the fourth generation of his family to run the store, explains why they opted for KeyStore. “We were supplied by Palmer & Harvey and after they collapsed, we reassessed how we should go forward,” he said.

“We found that JW Filshill met our requirements and being a long-established family business like we are we felt they understood us – it’s been a natural progression working with them since then.

“I think what impresses us most is the fact that they won’t ever tell us how to run our business – we are always in full control and they are there to help when we ask them.”

The Filshill team worked with Davidsons and the shopfitters to ensure that the design and layout of the new-look store provides the best possible shopping experience for customers. More space has been allocated to fresh and chilled with these categories now at the back of the store while alcohol has been moved and refreshed by the addition of a range of higher-quality wines.

Jeannette Gordon, sales and business development manager for Filshill in Northern England, said: “We work really close with our customers to make sure we offer them best-in-class service. Because Filshill is seen by suppliers in the Advantage Report as the best wholesaler in the UK, they can be sure that they get the best advice. We also work with our customers to find solutions that work for them.”

An example of this is Tony Hewson in Middleham, North Yorkshire. Jeanette explained: “Tony had an issue trying to link his newspaper home deliveries system to an existing EPOS system. Filshill came up with the solution for him where all his products, including home delivery, are all functional within the same system.”

Tony believes that KeyStore and Filshill are like a “silent partner” where they are there for the customer as little or as much as required. See Tony’s video on our home page.
